New Ruling Elders Elected

On Sunday, December 15th, 2024, our congregation gathered for a special congregational meeting to elect our new class of elders. With joy and gratitude, we are pleased to announce that the Class of 2026 was elected unanimously! This moment reflects not only the dedication of those willing to serve but also the spirit of unity within our church family.

The Role of Ruling Elders As stated in the Book of Order (PCUSA), G-2.0401, Ruling Elders are leaders chosen by the congregation to serve in faith and leadership. They are called to represent the congregation and to express the rich diversity and inclusiveness of our membership. These individuals are nominated by a Nominating Committee that is prayerfully elected by the congregation, ensuring a fair and representative process.

Ruling Elders play a vital role in the spiritual and administrative life of the church. They are entrusted with responsibilities to lead, discern, and support the mission and vision of our congregation.

Our Nominating Committee We extend our heartfelt thanks to the 2024 Nominating Committee, who faithfully discerned and presented this slate of leaders for the Class of 2026: Jeanne Thomas, Ann Rou, John Jackson, Alessandra Saunders, Roberta Sutton, Ruth McCollum and Bryan Ferguson. Their dedication to this process reflects their deep commitment to the health and vitality of our church.

A Spirit of Gratitude and Excitement The unanimous election of our new class of elders is a testament to the trust and support of our congregation. We look forward to seeing how God will work through these leaders as they guide our church into the future. Together, may we continue to grow in faith, serve our community, and reflect Christ’s love in all we do.

Let us hold this new class of elders in prayer as they prepare for their upcoming service. May they be filled with wisdom, strength, and joy as they answer God’s call to lead.

"For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." – Romans 12:4-5
