New Preaching: Advent '24

Life wraps us in many things—some comforting, others confining. Responsibilities, expectations, worries, or the endless pursuit of success and approval can leave us feeling stretched thin, disconnected, or longing for something more. We might even find ourselves wrapped in the pursuit of perfection or trying to control every outcome. These wrappings, while familiar, often weigh us down.

But Advent reminds us that God offers something far greater. He wraps us in eternal, life-giving gifts: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. These divine gifts don’t just rest on the surface of our lives—they envelop us, transforming how we see the world and how we live.

This Advent, we invite you to reflect on what wraps your life. Is it the temporary or the eternal? The burdens of this world or the gifts of God? Let us together explore how being "Draped in the Son" transforms everything.

Draped in the Son - Wrapped in Great Things (Sermon Series Overview)

"Wrapped in the Goodness and New Beginning" - Luke 2:1-7

Key Idea: Jesus’ presence wraps us in goodness and opens the door to new beginnings. When God wraps us in hope, we see new beginnings and possibilities, even in the face of despair.

December 8th – Second Sunday of Advent: Peace

Wrapped in a Peace that Goes Beyond Understanding" - Luke 2:8-14

Key Idea: Christ’s peace isn’t just the absence of conflict but the presence of God that calms our hearts and minds. When God wraps us in peace, we experience a calm that transcends

 understanding, grounded in His presence.

December 15th – Third Sunday of Advent: Joy

"Wrapped in the Joy of Beyond Here" - Luke 2:15-21

Key Idea: The joy of Jesus isn’t fleeting—it carries us through life and moves us toward God’s greater purposes. When God wraps us in joy, it carries us beyond the moment, filling us with purpose and gladness that sustain us.

December 22nd – Fourth Sunday of Advent: Love

"Wrapped in the Love that Will Not Let Us Die" - Luke 2:25-35

Key Idea: God’s love gives life meaning, guiding us not just to live but to thrive. And when God wraps us in love, we are embraced by a gift that never fades, never lets us go, and empowers us to truly thrive.

December 24th – Christmas Eve: Immanuel

"Wrapped in His Image" - Matthew 1: 18-25

Key Idea: In Jesus, the perfect reflection of God, we find our identity and purpose, wrapped in His image and called to reflect His glory.

Come and experience the beauty of this season, as we unwrap the gifts of Advent together. Let us prepare to be draped in the Son and discover the greatness of being wrapped in His goodness, peace, joy, love, and the ultimate gift of His presence.
