"Faith doesn’t make things easy; it makes them possible." This simple truth helps us understand that faith isn’t about having a smooth journey but finding strength and hope amid challenges. Let’s look at the story of Samson from the Bible to see how faith can turn difficult situations into opportunities. Because when we think of Samson, we think of supernatural strength, perhaps even betrayal but we often do not think about Samson's faith... and yet it was this faith that finally gave victory to Samson while giving all the glory to God. Samson had the power to move from streght to faith.
Samson was a man with incredible strength, given to him by God. Despite his great gifts, Samson faced many trials and struggles. One of the most powerful moments in his life came towards the end of his story.
In Judges 16:28 (NLT), Samson, who had been captured and blinded by the Philistines, prayed to God, saying, "Sovereign Lord, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time" (Judges 16:28 NLT). He was in a dire situation, feeling weak and defeated. Yet, he had faith that God could help him, even in his lowest moment.
God responded to Samson’s faith and gave him strength one final time. Samson was able to push apart the pillars of the Philistine temple, causing it to collapse and defeat his enemies. His faith, even amidst personal loss and suffering, led to a powerful victory. This story shows us that faith can bring about incredible possibilities, even when everything seems impossible.
To strengthen your own faith, try this simple exercise:
1. Identify a Challenge: Think about a current difficulty or situation in your life that feels overwhelming or impossible.
2. Pray: Spend a few moments in prayer, asking God for strength and guidance with your challenge. Like Samson, seek His help in your time of need.
3. Write It Down: Start a small journal where you write down your challenge and your prayers. This can help you see how God is working in your life and provide encouragement.
4. Find a Bible Verse: Look up a Bible verse that speaks about God’s power and faithfulness. Keep this verse in mind as a source of strength.
5. Share Your Journey: Talk about your experience with a friend or in a small group. Sharing can bring support and deepen your faith.
So, you might think that this exercise is a lot of work, but with time, it will become a habit, things that you will do like breathing.... and those habits will set you on a journey of success according to the will of God, which is what our Lord Jesus demonstrated.
Remember, faith doesn’t promise an easy path, but it makes it possible to face and overcome the toughest obstacles. Trust in God’s power and presence, knowing that with faith, what seems impossible can become possible.
