GriefShare Begins Aug 26th

Losing a loved one is never easy. Whether through death, divorce, or separation, the pain can be overwhelming. It’s during these times that many people find solace in community and faith-based support programs like GriefShare.

GriefShare is a 13-week Christ-centered support group designed to help individuals navigate the complex emotions and challenges that come with grief. Starting on Monday, August 26th and running through December 9th, sessions will be held from 3:00 to 4:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall classroom.

Led by Moderator Robbie Sutton and supported by Sue Chestnut, GriefShare offers a safe space to share experiences, gain practical coping strategies, and find comfort in a community of understanding individuals.

Understanding Grief

Grief is a deeply personal journey, affecting each person in unique ways. It’s a process that can evoke feelings of denial, anger, sadness, and confusion. These emotions may seem overwhelming, but they are a natural part of grieving. Recognizing this normalcy can be a crucial step towards healing.

A Support Group to Help You Move Through the Grief Process

A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.

A Christ-Centered Approach

What sets GriefShare apart is its foundation in biblical principles. Participants explore how faith can provide strength and comfort during times of loss. Through group discussions, video seminars featuring experts, and personal study, individuals learn to apply these principles to their own grief journey.

Meet the Moderators

Robbie Sutton, the program’s dedicated moderator, brings compassion and understanding to each session. With a heart for helping others through their grief, Robbie facilitates meaningful discussions and guides participants towards healing.

Sue Chestnut, a supportive presence in the program, is also available to offer assistance and guidance. Her commitment to the well-being of participants ensures that everyone feels heard and supported throughout their time in GriefShare.
