January & February Sermon Series: In the [be]ginning

YOU did not begin as lost or abandoned, actually quite the opposite. The fact is that there is an alternative to a life of chaos, isolation, fear, and self-destruction. The story of creation is that alternative. The first chapter of Genesis gives us a vision of what life with God, and in God, and for God is intended to be. In there, we see a glimpse of the intended love, extraordinary freedom, intimacy, community, beauty. Yet that is frequently blurred by the stark realities of our lived experiences. WE need to wake up to the fact that we chart paths of our own undoing, our own “Un-being.” For a world grown weary from its own un-being, perhaps it’s time to return to our… [Be]ginning.
